Bayelsa National Assembly Caucus Hails Governor Diri Over Ongoing Projects. ••••Says he deserves second tenure to do more.
The Bayelsa State caucus of the National Assembly, has hailed the performance of Governor Douye Diri in the area of infrastructural development.
Speaking in Nembe shortly after a tour of the three senatorial roads and other on going projects in the state, Chairman of the Bayelsa caucus of the National Assembly, Chief Fred Agbedi stated that they are impressed with the quality and level of job done so far on the three senatorial roads and other projects.
Describing the projects as cost effective, particularly the three senatorial roads, Chief Agbedi said as members of the National Assembly they will not relent in calling on the Federal Government to take over the Federal projects and refund whatever the state has expended in executing the projects.
The federal lawmaker commented the governor for spreading developmental projects across all parts of the State which he said has given every area a stake in the government.
He called on the people of the State to support the prosperity administration of Senator Diri to ensure that he gets a second term in office to deliver more projects to Bayelsans.
Chief Agbedi also commended the commissioner for Works, ESV Moses Teibowei for his efforts to deliver projects to the people of the State and urged contractors handling various projects to live up to expectations.
Also speaking, Senator Representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial district, Senator Moses Cleopas said the people of Southern Ijaw are elated over the Yenagoa/Oporoma road as it will not only make communities in the local government accessible but will also stimulate economic activities in the area.
Senator Cleopas called on the people of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area and the Central Senatorial district to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Diri and the Peoples Democratic Party in order to enjoy more dividends of good governance.
In his remarks, Commissioner For Works and Infrastructure, Estate Surveyor and Valuer ESV Moses Teibowei expressed appreciation to the members of the National Assembly for taking time out of their busy schedule to tour project sites in the State, saying the state government is encouraged by their visit.
ESV Teibowei reiterated the determination of the state government to take the projects, particularly the three senatorial roads to a logical conclusion despite the difficult terrain and huge funds needed to see it through.
In their separate remarks, Member representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma Opokuma Federal Constituency, Honourable Steve Azaiki and Member representing Ogbia Federal Constituency, Honourable Fred Obua both said they are proud of the achivements of Governor Diri so far, expressing optimism that Bayelsa will be the destination for tourist when the three senatorial roads are completed.
Also on the project tour were former members of the House of Representatives, Honourable Henry Ofongo, Hon. Sodagou Festus Omoni and Honourable Warman Ogoriba who also added their voice to the call for the people of the state to support governor Diri to enable him continue his sterling performance in office.
