Quality Service Delivery : A Promise Kept.





Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri,  has been commended for backing his words with action  by delivering State of the art equipment to Niger Delta Television station (NDTV).

State Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Ayiba Duba, gave the commendation during the flag-off of a two month training programme for staffers  of the NDTV for effective handling of equipment at the Ernest Ikoli Media Complex, Yenagoa.

Hon. Duba expressed gratitude to God and Governor Douye Diri for the equipment, said  it will enable quality service delivery and effective dissemination of government polices and programmes by the state owned broadcasting station across the Niger Delta region

He therefore, urged staffers to be committed to the course of the Government for greater opportunities and empowerment.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,  Mrs. Jane Help-Yawei, emphasised that a balanced work ethics and morals are key ingredients to propel proficiency at the work place. 

Mrs Help-Yawei, therefore, encouraged staffers to be diligent in service delivery. 

Earlier,  Acting General Manager of NDTV, Mr. Frederick Fabor, thanked the commissioner for the gesture and promised to ensure proper maintenance and handling of the equipment.

Bayelsa Utilising Derivation Funds Prudently - Gov Diri *Says Amnesty Programme Still Relevant To Niger Delta

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, says  the 13% oil derivation funds accruing to the state were being prudently spent, mostly on infrastructure development. Governor Diri stated this on Tuesday when he received the Interim Administrator, Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Major General Barry Ndiomu (retd), in Government House, Yenagoa. Governor Diri insisted that his administration had nothing to hide and that the state’s monthly allocations from the Federation Account had always been made public through its monthly transparency briefings. He however explained that what the state received as 13% derivation refund from the time of the previous administration was being paid in installments  after it had been discounted. Bayelsa: Diri Begins Inauguration of State Wide LG projects ... joins Yenagoa Mayor to inaugurate new City Council Secretariat

  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Tuesday inaugurated a twenty-five room office pace and a one story administrative block at the Yenagao council secretariat, built by the Mayor of the council, Mr. Nimizuoa Uroupaye. Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Diri said he was excited that Council Areas that once could not pay salaries were not only completing projects but have savings in their bank accounts. He stated that the new order in the Local Government management made it possible for every Council to set aside five million naira monthly to offset outstanding payments.  The governor said as a result of State government non interference with councils administration, Local Government councils have succeeded in completing projects in various Wards.
