Gov. Diri Visits Family Of Slain Yenagoa Youth

In order to further assuage frayed nerves over the crisis that engulfed a part of Yenagoa on Wednesday, Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, this evening visited the family of the slain youth at Yenizue-Epie community.

To ameliorate the loss of the family’s bread winner, who was stabbed by a commercial tricycle (Keke) rider, Governor Diri announced the award of scholarship to his three children up to university level.



He also pronounced automatic employment for the wife of the slain youth and directed the Secretary to the State Government to ensure the directive is effected immediately.

The governor equally directed the Commissioner for Transport to ensure the issue of high transport fares in Yenagoa and environs is immediately addressed.

Bayelsa PDP Delegates Will Support Pro-Restructuring Aspirant - Diri *Saraki Promises To Revive Economy, Unify Nigerians

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has said   Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates in the state would support any presidential aspirant of the party that will restructure Nigeria if elected. Senator Diri spoke on Friday when he received former Senate President and presidential aspirant, Senator Bukola Saraki, in Government House, Yenagoa. Governor Diri noted that as an oil and gas producing state,  which contributes huge revenue to the country's economy, restructuring would ensure equity and fairness to the oil-producing Niger Delta region, the state and the Ijaw nation in particular. ​ Nigeria Books of Record honors Bayelsa PFN Chair, Eyedoude Bayelsa State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Pastor Tam Seth-Eyedoude, has been inducted into the Nigeria Books of Record, in recognition of his selfless service to humanity. Recall that the inductee, alongside his executive successfully hosted the 17th PFN National Biennial Conference, where renowned fathers of faith converged on Yenagoa for the 3-days programme, which among other things qualified him for the honour.
