He said their constant harassment of motorists, commuters and heavy-duty drivers in the guise of collecting revenues along the highways is becoming worrisome not only to the State government but also to the road users.

While stressing that government is working assiduously to provide the basic needs of its citizenry, the task-force Chairman, assured that the committee would not rest on its oars till all revenue loopholes are blocked.

Mr Lugard, called on the perpetrators and their sponsors to desist from the nefarious act and work hand in glove with the task-force in order to improve on the revenue profile of the State.

He appreciated the State government and the Board of Internal Revenue for creating the enabling environment as well as other members of the task-force for their doggedness in riding illegal revenue collectors off the State.

Also speaking,  driver of the trailer, Mr Abubakar Oseni, said the hoodlums blocked the road and  demanded for the sum of forty thousand naira to enable him and he offered then 2000 which they refused and started hitting the truck with machetes.
