CBN To Launch New Naira Notes

 The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, on Wednesday announced that Nigeria will launch new currency notes on Dec. 15, 2022.

 According to the country’s apex bank governor, the new currencies to be launched are N1,000, N500 and N200 notes.

Conduct Credible LG Poll, Gov Diri Charges Electoral Commission *Also Inaugurates Civil Service Commission, State, LG Auditors-General

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has tasked new members of the Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC) to conduct credible local government election that will be a reference point in Nigeria. The governor also urged the commission to exercise its independence. Governor Diri gave the charge on Wednesday when he swore in chairman and members of the commission and that of the Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission. Also sworn in were the state’s Auditor-General, his local government counterpart as well as a member of the Judicial Service Commission. The ceremony took place inside the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Yenagoa. Bayelsa: PDP receives more APC defectors from Nembe LGA.

The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the weekend, received another batch of defectors from the opposition  of the All Progressives Congress (APC) The decampees from Agrisaba in Nembe Local Government Area led by Comrade Ebinabo Jumbo, explained that their decision to leave the APC for the PDP was largely informed by Governor Diri's disposition towards the unity and development of the state. Comrade Jumbo noted that in less than two years in office, the prosperity administration under Governor Diri had shown genuine commitment to good governance through its people-oriented policies, programmes and development projects in an unbiased manner. Another reason for their defection to the PDP, according to Jumbo, is that it has become crystal clear to them that the APC has no direction and vision for Bayelsa.
