CBN To Launch New Naira Notes

 The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, on Wednesday announced that Nigeria will launch new currency notes on Dec. 15, 2022.

 According to the country’s apex bank governor, the new currencies to be launched are N1,000, N500 and N200 notes.

Bayelsa Govt. debunks rumors on ban of tricycles in Yenagao.

  The Bayelsa State government says it has no plan to ban tricycles popularly known as Keke from operating in Yenagoa the State capital and its environs. In a statement, the Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who debunked the  rumours making the rounds that it was planing to place ban on tricycles, described it as untrue. Ewhrudjakpo clarified that the recent meeting which government held with the various transport unions and the tricycle operators was mainly intended to brief them on security measures being taken to checkmate crimes being committed with tricycles. He further explained that part of the security measures include the registration of all Keke owners and riders with proper data capturing. According to the Deputy Governor, the new arrangement would provide every registered Keke in the state with a special security identification number that will make for easy tracking both at night and in the day time. Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has urged indigenes of the state, and residents alike, to embrace the spirit of love that Christmas exemplifies in their dealings with each other. He also called for unity, harmony and reconciliation among people of the state. Governor Diri gave the charge in his 2021 Christmas message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, on Thursday.
