Bayelsa Queens Boss Appreciates Government For Support. •••Assured Bayelsans Of Trophy.
Chairman of Bayelsa Queens, Pastor Robin Apreala, has commended the
State government for ensuring that the Nigeria Women Premier league champions NWFL travel to Morocco for the CAF Women Champions League showdown.
The Prosperity girls arrived Casablanca, Morocco on Monday ahead of the 2023 Women’s Champions League from Murtala Muhammed International Airport bordered Royal Air Morocco airline, arrived Casablanca and lodged at the Magic Village Sports Centre in Casablanca.
The club chairman in a statement appreciated the government for the continuous support rendered to the team in ensuring that West African champions arrived Morocco for CAF Women Champions League without stress.
Mr Apreala noted that the success story of Bayelsa Queens in the last three years would be incomplete without governor Douye Diri and his deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo whose both heart holds a vast reservoir of love towards sports development in the State.
He lauded the governor for the premium attention he accorded to sports as well as giving utmost priority to the welfare of players ,saying that the gesture has placed Bayelsa Queens high as the club in Nigeria whose match bonuses are paid promptly.
The Amassoma born administrator thanked the commissioner for Youths and Sports Development Hon Daniel Igali and his management for their contributions towards the teams success, pointing out that the club has never had it so good since inception.
He called on Bayelsans and the supporters of the club not to relent in their prayers, assuring them of the trophy at the end of the showpiece.
The Nigerian champions will battle defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in their first game on Sunday at the Stade Grande de Marrakech and will later face TP Mazembe of Congo Democratic Republic in their second group game three days later.
Their final group game will be against Egypt’s Wadi Degla at the Stade Prince Heritier, Rabat on November 6.
