Super Six Qualification Excites Bayelsa Queens Chairman, Appreciate Journalists For Support.

Chairman,  Bayelsa Queens, Pastor Robin Apreala, says his side will go all out to win this year’s Nigeria Women Football League NWFL super six after the last year disappointing outing in Ijebu-ode that saw Rivers Angels emerged champions of the showpiece.

Bayelsa Queens pummeled visitors Abia Angels 5-0 at the Samson Siasia Stadium in a match day thirteen of the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL, to cement their super six qualification for the second time in a row.

Reacting to the his side’s victory shortly after the game, Pastor Apreala said the focus of the team was qualify for the continental game for the first time rather than playing the super six, describing the feat by the girls as glorious.

While thanking God for the victory, the chairman noted that playing the CAF Women Champions league would mean a lot to the girls having conquered Nigeria in the Aiteo Cup last season and winning the trophy would be a clear demonstration that the Aiteo Cup victory was not fluke.

With the Prosperity Girls finishing first ahead of champions Rivers Angels in group B, Pastor Apreala expressed believe that qualifying for the Super Six as well as playing in the CAF Women Champions league would be a turnaround in the club’s history.

He noted that the Prosperity Girls making it to the Super six back to back in group B of the NWFL ahead of champions Rivers Angels was indicative that the Yenagoa based club  was prepared for the ongoing season, pointing out that the club would do everything  possible to secure the continental slot.

The former Bayelsa Unied secretary commended the coaching crew, players and staff, urging the players not to relent in their quest to win the trophy.

He also thanked the State government and Sports journalists for their support throughout the season and during the current league campaign.
