Bayelsa: police arrests suspects for alleged possession of illegal firearms.
Operatives of the Koluama division of the Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested a man identified as Richard Okon, for alleged possession of illegal firearms in Koluama 2 of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the State.
Bayelsa Daily Online gathered that the suspect, was apprehended by vigilant youths and was handed over to police while on his way to a burial ceremony in the area with high profile personalities expected to attend.
The suspect in a confessional video, claimed to be working with a nephew to Chief Security Officer to the Senator representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial.
Okon, who also claimed that the gun in his possession belonged to the nephew and he was asked to bring it to the venue of the burial ceremony before he was apprehended by the community boys whoaccused of plotting to kill Chief Sele-epri Matthew, a prominent indigene of the area and Chairman of the eight host communities of Chevron Nigeria limited exploration activities in Southern Ijaw and Brass Local Government areas of Bayelsa State under the KEFFES Rural Development foundation.
